JANET THEORY IS: IF YOU LOVE JANET THEORY, YOU'LL
LIKE THESE BANDS: The band is made up of long time friends Mat Drew -vocals, Shawn Beaulieu - guitar, Jesse Verleye - bass, Dave Major - drums & Dave Richie - guitar. Dave Major replaced long time friend Charles Young on drums in 2001, shortly after an 8-month tour of Canada. Although the songs are naturally catchy, the band has stayed true to its melodic & aggressive roots, which just happens to be what people want right now. This has developed into a high-pace lure for the Janet Theory who have been asked & have played with many of their favourite bands these last few years (including The Joy Drop, Danko Jones, Tuuli, Scratching Post, Clark Nova, See Spot Run and Robin Black & the I.R.S.). 2001 gave way to 'Elastic Friend', the CD that shaped the coming of the band. The unlikely Indie hit "Freaks Get High" was downloaded heavily from Napster & took on a life of its own. The band again made out with a rash of performances that showcased their interactive live performances. The CD received nothing but great reviews worldwide. Maybe it was the luck of people talking about it, but it was all good news so the Janet Theory keep tracking. The Janet Theory's friendship has been noted like no other for this band & the new CD (released the summer of 2002) will show that they have come full circle as an original conception who have more than done their share of time to be considered the forefront of the underground scene. Although friendship, longevity & chemistry are great
points when considering this band, it is the music that counts. Live,
they are heavy & intense, but as California's band radio chief says,
'Combine the best of pop/punk that is out there
today with the melodies & hooks of the Goo Goo Dolls and you have
the Janet Theory.' The best of both worlds can be had. DISCOGRAPHY: CONTACT JANET THEORY: .......................................................................................................................................................................... . |
