MARK HEWER IS: IF YOU LOVE AYNdRONE, YOU'LL
LIKE THESE BANDS: Mark, a 44-year-old musician/songwriter from Canada, explains his interest in music began in 1965 at the age of seven. Mark and brother Ken, having taken the metal base off the family globe, used it to complete their first drum kit. With a snare drum and the bottom of the globe as a cymbal, Hewers career in music began! Growing up in Windsor, Ontario, Mark was exposed to the Motown explosion coming out of Detroit in an era with illustrious artists such as The Supremes, The Temptations and The Jackson 5, as well as all of the great new music being played on "The Big 8" CKLW radio waves in the 1960's & 70's. Mark has drummed for numerous bands in the Windsor/Detroit area and has over 25 years experience in the music business. Now, Marks passion has turned to songwriting, recording and sharing his music with fans around the world. Sue Braiden of CBC Radio says, "Mark Hewer is
a gentle, passionate and gifted composer. Even better, he's from my hometown,
Windsor, in Canada. "Daybreak" is a touching instrumental, one
of several beautiful pieces in Hewer's repertoire. His ability to collaborate
(have a listen to "Sea of Emotion") is likely the product of
his experience as a drummer for various bands on the circuit. Hewer's
got much more than just a knack for rhythm. His ability to create well-textured
scores is almost poetic, not getting caught in the trap of formula songs.
He adroitly crosses genres, moving as easily through instrumentals and
vocal pop pieces as he does the jazzy, delicious The Walkerville Publishing Company states: Expect
to hear plenty of 12-string acoustic guitar tones, MIDI keyboards and
the occasional distorted guitar melody from collaborator Mike Burn. The
innocence of the music starkly contrasts the shock appeal tactics common
to new artists. You could leave the disc playing in a room full of small
children with little concern. DISCOGRAPHY: LISTEN ONLINE: CONTACT MARK HEWER: .......................................................................................................................................................................... . |
